Darryl Arante is a social media influencer who primarily focuses on men's fashion, lifestyle, and reviews. I worked with Darryl since 2019, creating content such as YouTube banners, thumbnails, social posts, and reels across all social media platforms. The social media platforms include Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook with weekly content being posted along with engagement with the subscribers/followers. Darryl has a very minimalist, yet modern style which he emphasizes through his outfits and aesthetic. In order to embody the same style and encapsulate it into a brand identity, I focused keeping up with the threads and incorporating them with minimalist elements such as neutral colors, great usage of space, and assets throughout all designs.
Louise Bourgeois’s spider exhibition is a showcase of the French sculptor’s larger than life art pieces. The spiders are a symbolic representation of protection, nurture, and adaptability which she derived from her relationship with her mother. In order to embody the protective, yet nurturing symbolism, I used a contrasting pink and black color palette paired with a traditional serif typeface. The goal is to utilize the palette, typeface, and gray-scaled imagery of the artist and her pieces to create visually striking content to promote the exhibit.
Typography Project I worked on for my Typography II class. This project had several restraints, as its main focus was typography design. We had to choose from a list of fonts given to us by the professor and utilize the chosen font to create a typography poster. The poster has to showcase all of the letters in the typeface, use only black and white as the colors, and limit the usage of other design elements down to just basic shapes that are found in Adobe InDesign.
